Gas distribution was one of the first applications of medium density polyethylene (PE) pipe. PE pipe has proven its capabilities for gas distribution as many of the systems currently in use have been in continuous service since 1960. Today, more than 90% of the pipe installed for natural gas distribution in Canada and the U.S. is polyethylene. In fact, PE has become the material of choice for gas distribution worldwide.
KWH Pipe's Wehogas pipe system is manufactured from premium-engineered PE resins with proven long term performance capabilities. Inherent properties include ductility, flexibility, toughness, impact, abrasion and chemical resistance, plus the ability to withstand the elements.
Wehogas pipe is lightweight and available in long coils for ease of installation and to minimize the number of joints required. It can be joined by heat fusion or mechanical fittings and does not corrode like metal pipe. Wehogas pipe has proven to perform against a variety of service conditions including: temperature and soil shifts, bending, weathering, internal pressure, direct burial, point loading and squeeze-off.
